In which the author purports a rather dubious claim…
So as you can see above, I went a little concept crazy recently. These are not so much concepts as they are my guess as to what several teams would actually do if they decided to adopt a true road jersey.
A handful of teams don’t have their city’s name on their road grey jersey, however there may be a few less next year — The Orioles are set to place ‘Baltimore’ on their road jerseys and the Rays are rumored to join in as well and display ‘Tampa Bay’ on their grey’s. Since no preview images have surfaced for either team’s actual jersey, you will have to settle for my best guess.
The Baltimore road jersey is included in my big uniform set, as well as MVP 2008, and in addition you’ll find the three jerseys pictured above. As of now, I haven’t heard any news about the Phillies or Angels adding their respective city names to their road grey’s, but if they did I think they’d find two good concepts in my uniform set. I like how the Angels uniform borrows a bit from the predominantly red St. Louis Cardinals’ choice to add more navy in their away attire (Both the Angels and Cardinals share the same team colors) while the Phillies concept would them to join the Rockies and Twins as the only teams to go with pinstripes for both home and road sets.

Straight from the nerd that lives deep, deep inside of me, here are some stats on my big All-Star break uniform release:
414 uniforms total
250 MLB uniforms
64 AAA uniforms
44 AA uniforms
56 A uniforms
Of the 120 teams in the game, I made uniforms for 98 of them (82%)
Of the 26 teams I did not make uniforms for, 20 teams were handled by redsox and 2 were handled by bigbully.
This thang will be out soon…

From time to time, I like to go through my archives and marvel at the way things used to be. Below is a little example which shows how MVP 2005 looked straight out of the box, and how it looks now… guess which is which.

So, why no updates you ask? Well, I’ve been busy. Here’s an example of some new items you’ll find on the progress page:
000g 2008 70s Throwback
003j 2008 Senators throwback
003n 1994 Home
009g 1968 Home
009m 2008 1973 Throwback
009e 2009 Road
012l 2008 St. Pete throwback
018m 2008 1980 Orange home throwback
021n 2008 80’s Rainbow throwback
So there’s all that, which is really just the tip of the MLB iceberg, then you’ve got the countless MiLB uniforms that are included. So many other new uniforms are in there, not including the many more which have been re-done and re-edited — the biggest uniform release for MVP Baseball 2005 is getting much, much larger…
