In which the author emits a peculiar stench…

I’m done. How ’bout you, are you done? No? Well I am. Just finished tonight. And they look great, too. Much better than last year, which should scare the pants right off your torso. Yes, I’m typing to you… and your pants.

I win.

In which the author reads from a steamy novella…

Overhauled the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. Re-did the usual in the new templates, added the spring uniform, got carried away and started on two Pirates throwbacks uniforms, then I look up and kablammo — it’s 4:45 a.m.

The throwbacks are way fun, some of my favorite so far. Love the all-yellow uniform and I got to try something different with their pinstripe uniform, so I thoroughly enjoyed that. Head on over to the downloads section and give these a whirl.

In which the author has a retarded look upon his face…

Who’s ready for BETA Update 4? You? How about you? Ok, you? No? My mistake…

Some big-time effort went into this update, especially the Phillies throwbacks, which required me to build yet another set of secret templates, so keep those checks coming and make sure they’re made out to DR. MONEY CASH. Anything less than $99.50 would be a slap to my girlfriend’s face…

Here’s whats in Update 4:

Nationals — Re-done in new templates

Mets — Re-did the black alternates in new templates, fixed chest scripts

Phillies — Re-done in new templates, added 70s home and road throwbacks

Richmond Braves — Added home and road

Tampa Yankees — Added home and road

Sacramento River Cats — Added home and road

Mississippi Braves — Added home and road

Pawtuckett Red Sox — Added home and road

Palm Beach Cardinals — Added home, road, and home alternate

St. Lucie Mets — Added home and road

Vero Beach Dodgers — Added home and road

Dunedin Blue Jays — Added home and road

Reading Phillies — Added home and road

In which the author creates a buzz around the water heater…

So I’m back, what up everybody? You been checking the blog for updates? Kind of? Oh, you are right now? Alright, fair enough. Thanks for stopping by, then.

No BETA update in several days, as you can tell. After a while things can get pretty tedious here at home base. To give you an idea of how it is to be me, stare at this image for a few hours every day, then see if you feel like staring at it every other day for the rest of the season.

thebigfolder.png

(If you can handle staring at that for a long time, contact me — I’ve got some other things you can stare at for me)

I’m in a weird position now where I’m kinda bored with MLB re-do’s, so I’ve got the minor leagues to mess around with, but I can’t really because no one has gotten their hands on the 2008 style guide yet. So I can’t really make minor league uniforms, I could do MLB uniforms but I’m kinda burnt out on that right now, but instead I just sit here and play NHL 08. So what does this mean for the three of you who are reading this? You get preview images of folders and no BETA updates… whoopee!

Anygay, just thought you should know what was up over here. Oh, and by the by, I’ve got BETA Update 4 ready to go, it’s just sitting here, blah blah blah, more on that later. The real story here is look at all those folders! Am I right, people?

In which the author accurately predicts the apocalypse…

Got bored with the major leagues. Started work on minor leagues.

If you don’t believe me, check the new image in the photo gallery. If you do believe me, please help me out by finding any/all pictures of minor league teams. I don’t need anything hi-res, I would just like to know what teams are wearing for their home and road uniforms. I don’t care if it’s a picture of Hillary Clinton in a Northwest Arkansas Naturals jersey, as long as the uniform is current I need to see it. And if you don’t want to send pictures, for God’s sake please send money.

In which the author questions the exclamation mark…

Big day today. An all Padre day. You would have thought it was Spanish father’s day with the amount of San Diego uniform work I did today. The Padres got a big-time throwback makeover, so all you San Diegans (or is it San Diego-ites? San Diego-uns? San Dieg-ons?) can write me a big fat check for $32.50, ’cause I deserve it.

Including San Diego, here are the teams that are included in Update 3:

Devil Rays — Names fixed on 2008 uniforms, added 1998 throwback uniform

Rockies — Re-done in new templates, added 1999 ‘Turn Ahead the Clock‘ uniform

Padres — Re-done in new templates (including throwback uniforms), new chest/script logos, added 1980s throwback uniform, 2001 throwback uniform

Baltimore — Re-done in new templates

Blue Jays — Re-done in new templates

Diamondbacks — Re-done in new templates

In which the author fancies a particularly fine pair of pants…

Working on update #3 at the moment, but thought I’d break for lunch and post a little preview of what’s going on here at home base.

In the new preview picture I posted you get a glimpse of some of the changes I’ve made from 2007 to 2008, as well as a few hints of the source for my new scripts/logos. I’m having fun now because it’s turning out well, but the tedious work to get to this point is what’s starting to drag me down. I’m looking forward to getting this done so I can never, ever, ever re-do my templates ever again, never. Get used to what you’re seeing now, because I’m never, ever, ever going to change it… for reals, never.

In which the author proclaims his love for pants…

So what do I do after releasing a big giant BETA pack full of uniforms? Release an update two days later of course… I’ve also added my name to the Wikipedia entry for anal retentive.

Now I know what you’re saying, you’re saying “Hey Goober, why the hey would you release an update so soon?” Well first off, you’re talking to a computer screen. Second, did you not read the first sentence? I’m WAY NERDY when it comes to uniforms. I’m continually working on uniforms. So last night I was sleeping, right, and I was having this dream that I was on the computer working on uniforms, but then I suddenly woke up and realized… I was on the computer working on uniforms. So this is the first of what will probably be several BETA updates. Since I’m continually working, this is a much better idea for all of you rather than having to download the entire BETA every time I finish a few more uniforms.

New items included in BETA Update 1:

Twins — Re-done in new templates

Red Sox — Re-done in new templates

Yankees — Re-done in new templates, added 1950s era throwback uniform

Devil Rays — Name issue fixed

Blue Jays — Powder blue alternate converted to modern slot, throwback numbers fixed, added 2003 throwback uniform

Dodgers — Re-done in new templates, added spring uniform

Reds — Re-done in new templates

Braves — Added 1970s and 1940s era throwback uniforms

As always, you can find the update in the ‘downloads’ section. Now go install it, play with it, and send me a check for $13.50.
